SYD will be with us again soon! Watch this space....

We've had an extremely busy 7 years with LPS and the response to our driver training has been really encouraging with lots of passes so far! But Paul isn't one to sit back and be complacent! His years of experience in the Fire service have taught him the importance of continuous professional development and of teaching young people about the importance of excellent driver safety and what we should all be doing to keep people safe on the roads and to provide a very positive driving experience for young people to enjoy their new skill for life..

Paul may have retired from his duties as a Firefighter but that just means he now has more time to follow his greatest passion - to keep contributing in the community by rolling out a program of events that teaches awareness of the changing environment, new technology and its impact on safety and the increased traffic on the roads and how this can affect the driving experience both for the young driver and for the rest of us!

So Paul wants to develop the business further and increase our training program to include a more social and fun learning experience than just the practical sessions in the car.  Of course the practical part is essential and the theory too but with changes to the driving test and to the increasing amount of vehicles on the road we want our young drivers to keep up with those changes and be confident and 'savvy' road users.

So! we are pleased to tell you about Paul's unique SAFE YOUNG DRIVER scheme (SYD) that he rolled out into the community in the early part of 2016. The scheme is aimed at 16 to 25 year olds but everyone is welcome as you are never to old to learn!  and 16 not 17 because we feel that getting this knowledge before you start to learn in the car is also not a bad idea!

We had a lot of very positive feedback from the local community agencies and from our 'pilot scheme groups' when we hosted our first meetings in the local fire station and at a local car showroom back in 2016 and so with the help of some of these agencies again and some volunteers we aim to develop this further.

We feel it will provide our learner drivers with a fun social way to build 'EXTRA' awareness of driver safety, giving our students enhanced tuition, gaining even more knowledge skills and opening their eyes to the benefit of taking the 'Youth club culture' out of the car but without preaching or lecturing to our students as we feel that is inappropriate. Our short course is aimed at creating SAFE YOUNG DRIVERS for a better future on our roads.

So watch out for another SYD course soon and let us know if you are interested in joining one of our group sessions.  More details to follow soon and the courses are free to all but are are a great addition to those learning with LPS Driver Training - providing another new skill for life.

Our courses provide a certificate of attendance at the end and its a great addition to add to your portfolio of skills and experiences especially when adding to a CV for employers to see, so its worth considering joining us at one of next courses and because we are doing this to help the young people in our local community its FREE! so why not come along and join in with SYD!
