Covid-19

Safety for your lessons

Hand Hygiene

We have written some guidelines for you to please read and adhere to during the Covid-19 period and we ask that you check before every lesson to see that you can comply with all the guidelines that are in place to protect all our students and our instructor.  Please do not be complacent THIS IS IMPORTANT for health & safety of everyone concerned and want everyone to remain safe.  - Thank you

If you are due to have a lesson but know that you have been in a social environment with more than 6 people outside of your household or family bubble prior to the lesson and have not been able to follow the 1 metre safe distancing at any time then please let us know before your lesson.  Please be honest as we are trying to protect all our students and our instructor.  We will not charge you for the cancelled lesson but we will have to ask you to keep STRICTLY to the government guidelines for social distancing whilst you are having lessons with our driving school.

We are unable to allow parents or partners to accompany students in the back of the car at this time to check on progress as we must keep the environment in the car as safe as possible during this time.

Please come out to the car on your own and not accompanied at the start of the lesson.  If you need to present your licence just hold it up and read out the information to the instructor do not hand it to him and do not put your ID in or near your mouth.

If you bring your mobile phone do not put it down In the car please keep it switched off and in your pocket on your person

If the instructor has to give a demonstration drive during the lesson he will wipe down the controls before he does this and then after the demonstration before the student touches them again.  This does take time so it may affect the lesson content during this time and we do apologise for that but we must adhere to strict health and safety to protect the instructor and the student.

We are not able to accept Visors to be worn during the lesson as they can obscure the view and can invalidate our insurance

We will accept cash or payment via BACs before the lesson or mobile or card payment but if paying by cash at the lesson please try to have the correct money so we can ask you to place it into a cash box without any contact. Our card machine is contactless but may require PIN number and the machine is cleaned after each use.-  Thank you

IMPORTANT: We ask that during your course you check the Government website on the Covid -19 page for driving rules to  become familiar with what will be expected at the test centres for Theory and Practical tests.

There are guidelines to follow for both and we have information we can send you digitally for these if you need them.

For the practical test please be aware that before you can take the test up turn up at the test centre then you must have registered for the governments track and trace scheme or the examiner will not enter the car and the examination will be cancelled. This is not our decision or request it is a requirement of the DVSA

Masks are mandatory during a practical test unless you have a particular health reason not to wear it and if so you have to stipulate this when you arrange a driving test date.

Our instructor is not allowed to accompany you on your test at this current time.

Please also note that toilet facilities are presently available for use at the test centre but you will be accompanied into the building at your request and without your instructor who will remain outside.  You will be asked to clean the facilities if you have to use them so please try to make provision before you reach the centre to save time.

There are no facilities to wait in the waiting room at the current time due to covid and all students will be met by the examiner in the car park.  Our instructor will guide you though this but we want to make you aware in advance of these changes.

If you feel you are not able to cope with changes in use of the toilet facilities or with wearing a mask during the examination we suggest you delay your test until we know more about any changes to the current regulations.  Please feel free to discuss any concerns with your instructor so we can keep you updated as we know more.

We are facing unprecedented times at the moment and we know this can be stressful in a training and exam environment but we do ask for your kind co operation in maintaining a safe and enjoyable experience and to protect you and our instructor.  We thank you for your understanding..
